“I Am A Superwoman” (IAAS) was a women’s empowerment blog project launched by Alicia Keys in 2010. The singer launched an international search for the lead IAAS blogger, and out 8,500 candidates, Ruby came in as a Top 3 Finalist.
As a finalist, Ruby served as a correspondent and content creator on the topic of women’s issues for IAAS, creating written and video content that spoke to 'superwomen' all over the world. As part of her correspondent role, Ruby was flown out to London to meet with Alicia Keys and report on her charity event, “The Black Ball”, upon which she interviewed celebrities such as Christian Louboutin, Swizz Beatz, and Alicia Keys on the red carpet.
When the IAAS campaign launched in 2010, blogging was a fairly new concept. Nevertheless, Ruby built an online grassroots campaign for the new IAAS brand and developed a network of influencers in just three months, launching a social media marketing campaign right on the cusp of the blogging phenomenon.
