Do you believe?

Tell me, have you ever had the courage to claim your dream? This dream thing. It sounds so cliché, I almost hate to write about it again. Yet, this dream is the fire in me. The thing that ignites action, drive, spirit ,into what I always knew I was meant to become.

Yet on days like today, I feel burnt out. Lack of inspiration? No. Frustration, yes.  I’m staying driven, but my gas is low and the path is rough, unpaved. Sometimes we have to accept that the journey feels like this.

The question is, do we believe?

Yes, wholeheartedly. We have to. It is imperative. It’s not about being rational- it’s the soul in us, the higher being in us that tells us to keep going. To keep trusting. The higher being, the spiritual realm, it doesn’t belong in the “rational” portions of our psyches, it’s bigger than that. Much greater, and much more knowing.

So this is me, picking myself up again. Going to dust myself off, wipe my eyes*, and keep looking to the sky. A bold and fearless statement of faith and resilience, I’ve decided I’m going for the sun.

Ignite.

*Ladies, isn’t so grand that we still look pretty when we cry?

Thank you Maria, for helping to pick me up with this today:

“I think there’s a certain delusional quality* that all successful people have to have. You have to believe that something different can happen than what has happened for the last 50 million years of history…” – Will Smith

*By all means, call me crazy.

it’s true, it’s natural for us to be skeptics of such dreams because we’ve yet to SEE it happen. make it happen captain!!!

it is a great delight for me to have been able to read/see your entry at this point in time. thank you, ruby! and now with hopes of giving back even just a little, here’s a recent quote i absolutely loved:

Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark. In the hopeless swamps of the not quite, the not yet, and the not at all, do not let the hero in your soul perish and leave only frustration for the life you deserved, but never have been able to reach. The world you desire can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours. –Ayn Rand
