Day 1 Recap @ SXSW: So far, so good

Howdy folks, aloha from Austin! Oh wait. That didn’t make sense. Whatever. With all this wonderful wonderful sun, my pale shorts-wearing legs are screaming with delight! Only gal as usual. Where are all the ladies at SXSW?! Hmm.

Yesterday was St. Paddy’s day, and someone on the street pinched me. Random acts of violence, huh Austin?!! Geeze Louise. There is madness and noise and chaos and people everywhere. And free food and free beer too! Highlights so far include strolling through the FADER fort and watching Emily Haines be a goddess on stage with Metric, interviewing Stalley and Mel D. Cole, jukin it out with Kid Sister at the Beauty Bar, hanging at the AOL lounge (they’re doing really cool music things these days- Broken Bells yesterday, Smokey Robinson and Saddiq Friday), and of course, hanging with my pals.

Although all this running around makes a lady tired though, especially when I kept walking back and forth last night just trying to take a gander at a live Dam Funk set. After miles and miles, I made it to the Stones Throw showcase just in time to take a quick peek at the ending. Woke up, still exhausted. Better day today- interviews with Terry Poison, Tanya Morgan, and Roxy Cottontail on the way.

Plus I’ll be hosting the Power Networking Hour for Ladies Lotto and will be on stage hosting the set. See info @ blog post below and join us!
