Ruby #26, by Fahamu Pecou and Hebru Brantley, August 2009.
The Fak’try was a week of art exhibit galore. Had soo much fun, and was incredibly honored to be Fahamu’s ‘muse’ for his week-long exhibit at Lyons Weir Art Gallery in Chelsea. I still can’t believe I was someone’s muse. Oh dear. Clearly the concept still amuses me. Teehee.

Fahamu never ceases to amaze me. It was my first time meeting Hebru, and I learned that besides being a talented artist, he also has a very special place in his heart for Pinkberry.

We were there every single night, with Mu and Hebru painting and creating new pieces every single day. I’m still in awe of how a blank canvas can be transformed into a landscape of ideas, thought, theory, beauty. Of immortalized beauty. It reaffirms, as it has been so many times before, how much the world needs art. We thrive with it, flourish in it, become brilliant with it. I’m thankful to be blessed with so many radiant spirits.
